Lexington, Va. Oct. 23d 1866- 

Personaly came before me the subscriber R.E. Beeton a citizen of Lexington in the county of Rockbridge state of Virginia to me well known who being duly sworn according to law says—

That at the time of the litigation between Bt Col. Geo. B. Carse and James Holly in reference to the possession of a house and office owned by James Holly and at that time occupide by Bt Col G.B. Carse 

I had but one room vacant in my house that I would rent to Bt Col. G.B. Carse— and further that I now have two rooms in my house that I am willing to rent to Bt Col. G.B. Carse neither of which I would be willing for him to use as an office
