Makes statements relative to his acc't rendered for services to the Bureau. states that a fraction of the same is for subsistence while searching the records of court in Portsmouth.

Respectfully returned to Maj Croft, who will please separate the items in the last charge of the enclosed account. The written communication claims that a part of this item is for subsistence - subsistence should not be charged as Maj Crofts is not entitled to it. 
 A new account will be made out and only such amount charged in the bill as the receipts of the clerk will show was actually paid to him for the purpose specified.  
Copies of these receipts will be forwarded with the accounts
