They did not give me any time but took me into the Clerks room and made me give the bond telling me if I did not they would sell all my property They have now come to take all of my property I have a fair chance for a cropp but if they are allowed to go on I will with my family be left destitute. All that I ask is that justice be given me Hoping that you will assist me

States that he was summoned before the County Court of Halifax, to answer John Rudd of a plea of trespass damages $250 00/100. When his turn came for trial, they gave him no trial but made him sign a bond threatening to sell his property if he did not - says that they have now come to take his property asks that justice may be done him
