The following Telegram received   m.,  Mar 28 1866
From Norfolk 1866.

Col O Brown
The small pox has made its appearance among the Freedmen at Suffolk. There is no medical officer there & no post Hospital.

Maj Stone writes for assistance please send aid [[strikethrough]] aid [[/strikethrough]] aid as soon as possible and instructions for the meantime by telegraph

Please instruct him to employ, at a reasonable rate, some Physician to give prompt aid thorough attention to it at once ā€”. Establish a proper Hospital for the sick. A Med officer will be sent as soon as possible.
