I have the honor to state in reply to your letter of the 7th inst having reference to the rent and property of Mrs. Jane O. Bailey, that the property has already been restored and in proof that she was in possession, at one time since the order restoring, she, Mrs Bailey - has sold it to Mr. Hiscox, the man who rented it for 1865. Early in October, before the order of restoration was made, Mr. Hiscox paid a little more than $400 Four hundred dollars rent on same. This was only part of the rent stipulated for 1865, and has been acctd. for to the Treasy Dept. through your office, This was before the order restoring rent was issued.
