I have the honor to enclose for your consideration a copy from the records of the County Court of my Sub-District
I turned over to a Justice of the Peace an aggravated case of assault, a white man having thrust a pitchfork into a negro, and there being no civil officer present I had the fellow arrested by request of the Justice_; the magistrate had the prisoner properly bound over to appear at Court; a copy of the order, Circular 10 being forwarded to the Court as explanatory of my decision to act in the case
The sureties of the man are exempted from further liability and the case dismissed
Am I to take any further action in this case or similar ones
