OFFICE SUP'T R.F. & A.L.
1st. DIST. OF VIRGINIA.
Norfolk, Va., April 29, 1866.

General:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of a communication from Mr Parker to Mr King Atty, and by him referred to you from Washington April 26th , and by you referred to me April 27th with instructions to communicate with Lt French with regard to the property named.

I find the order duly recorded in my Order Book. As Mr Parker says he has the order and has shown it to Lt French, it must be one of those cases where the order was given direct to the applicant and only one copy sent to my office. No difficulty has occurred in other instances. I will send a copy of my order by boat on Monday with instructions to Lt French to immediately restore the property.

I am General
Very Respectfully
