Norfolk, Va, 1866. has taken, but suppose he is endeavoring to carry out my instructions , as to day I received a copy of the "Return" of the Coroner's Jury"- in the case (see paper marked "C" enclosed herewith) Deeming the matter of sufficient importance to be reported to you, and wishing to be informed with regard to my duty in the case. I have thus briefly brought the case before you; hoping my course will meet your approval and that I shall soon hear from you on the subject, with instructions.
