The school house was built for white schools, but was not nor had been for a long time occupied when the asst Supt. gave these teachers liberty to occupy it.  But I presume the citizens did not relish the idea of its being appropriated to the use of colored children.

I have not yet given up the hope of bringing the party or parties guilty of incendiarism to justice.
