Respectfully returned, with the information that the allegations in the within letter are true. This addition should have been made that the horse stolen from Houchins was a Govt. Horse. I notified Mr Scales not to make any attempt to take him  The Scales family are very bitter toward the Govt. and try to injure the authority of its agents.
