To Genl O Brown Commissioner for Virginia,

Your petitioner George W. Fitchett would respectfully represent, that John P. Manson departed this life. In the year 1860, seized and possessed of a Tract of land lying, being & situated in the County of Warwick, and bounded as follows on the North West by the land of James W. Custis, on the North East by V Killinger, and the South West by the lands of W. G. Young and Joshua Fitchett decd containing Eighty three acres.

That said land is now held by the Freedmen's Bureau.

That your petitioner duly qualified in 1860 as the administrator of the said John P Manson decd. That your petitioner has taken the Oath as prescribed in the Amnesty Proclamation of May 29 1865, & that he is not embraced within any of its excepted classes.

That no proceedings have been initiated against said property for confiscation: Your petitioner would represent that he filed his petition for the restoration of this property several months ago, which he was informed was accidentally lost: the Freedmen shall not be molested before the expiration of the year, & if [[possible?]] they will be permitted to remain longer. In consideration of the premises, your petitioner would ask the restoration of said property.
