Lt Henry Marcotte
Asst Supt 8th Dist Va

Lt,
My relations live at Lynchburg Va, and I am here a cripple not able to do any work out doors I cam stem Tobacco and make segars, but there is none of that kind of business carried on here, No tobacco is raised here, I know that my three children who are working at Lynchburg would help me if I was there, I have no means to pay my way and no way that I know of to make any money being crippled in the leg so badly that I can work only at steming Tobacco & making segars, I hope therefore that transportation be granted to me to go to Lynchburg Va, where I can by the help of my children and my own industry earn a living
Yours, Respectfully
Samuel George his X mark
