O. 4. R. F. & A. L. Va. 1866. Bowling Green Feb 2 1866 Capt J. O'Dwyer Asst Supt Forwards statement & Report in regard to case of Frank Martin vs. C. Campbell. Thinks Martin has no claim. States Jim Gray was negotiating for the purchase of the land from Mr Hudgens. Had Paid in Cattle $30. Mr Campbell acting as master for Gray gave notes for the balance of the purchase money, $70. Jim Gray afterwards bought a mare for $45. Mr Campbell giving his security & having to pay the money The deed was made to Mr C. who resold the land years ago 3 Enclosures Office Supt 4th Dist Va Gordonsville Feb 6 1866 Respectfully returned to Col O Brown Asst Commissioner with attention invited to the report of Capt ODwyer T.
