Report of Bureau affairs in Sub-District "A".
Sixth District Va. in the Bureau of Refugees Freedmen and Abandoned Lands during the month ending 31st day of January A.D. 1866.

1st
In Alleghany and Bath Counties, I have no one to attend to the Bureau affairs, as there are no troops in this Military Sub-District but according to the best information that I can get, everything is working very smoothly between the citizens and freedmen.

2nd
In Rockbridge County there are no more serious difficulties between the Citizens and Freedmen. Since the excitement of the holidays has subsided no more apprehension is felt of difficulty while the Freedmen and the greater part have ahead found homes for the present year.

3rd

loud-mouthed secessionists, that they can support themselves with the same amount to labour that they used to do for their "former masters".

4th
As far as I can ascertain there are plenty of places for all of the Freed[[men]]
