I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of yours of 5th inst. requiring my immediate attention to a communication of Capt Howe, Winchester Dec 20 /65, in relation to the Alesworth family.

I am as yet, on account of the absence of W H.J. Wale, from his home, unable to give any information upon the subject, excepting the presumption of a relative of his that the Alesworth family were sold by Mr Wale in Richmond.
