GENERAL ORDERS, } QUARTERMASTER GENERAL'S OFFICE,
No. 29. } Washington City, July 6, 1864.

I.. All officers of the Quartermaster's Department will prepare, with as little delay as possible, and forward to the Quartermaster General, an annual report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1864

II.. Officers who have been more than one year in the Quartermaster's Department, and who made last year the annual reports called for by General Orders, No. 13, Quartermaster General's Office, July 22, 1863, will refer to those reports, giving the dates at which they were mailed.

III.. Officers who have been appointed into this Department on or since 30th June, 1868, should give in this, their first annual report, a succinct history of their military service, date of their first entry into service, rank with which they entered - whether as privates or officers - subsequent promotions, &c.

IV.. Acting Assistant Quartermasters and Regimental Quartermasters, as well as other officers of the Quartermaster's Department, are expected to make these annual reports; and it is requested from all officers who at any time during the past year have, even for a short period, performed the duty of Acting Assistant Quartermasters.

V.. These reports should be made in a concise and clear style, embracing the following:
1st. The stations, marches, and duties of the officer during the year, or for such time as he served in the Quartermaster's Department. To be given in the form of a personal narrative report, stating at what places and with what commands the officer served, the dates of changes of stations, the marches and journeys, battles, sieges, and skirmishes in which he has borne a part; whether any property under his charge has been lost, destroyed, or captured by the enemy, and its value; what rebel property captured by our armies has fallen into his hands; what was its value, and what disposition had been made of it.
2d. A statement, made in accordance with the form "A," herewith embracing all the articles of Quartermaster's property which have come into the possession of the officer during the year ending June 30, 1864.

3d. A statement, made in accordance with the form "B," embracing all the articles of clothing, camp and garrison equipage, which have
