Richmond, Va.
July 11th 1866

Resptfully returned with the information that from the fact of the military force being stationed near Chimborazo no rock battle is likely to take place and that such battles never occur except when the white boys of that locality throw missiles with slings at the colored boys and the latter only act on the defensive, the Police as well as the whites concur in this opinion.
