Cook to come here & take the evidence before him, we only ask that [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] all the facts of these cases may be properly before you, if you will not hear our side of the Burket case, then your order of course must be obeyed, we proved by good evidence that Burket did steal our horse before the court would give Judgement against Burket for the amt. of Botkin's act, The court Sir, of this County, have no desire to disobey your order, only wish that the facts may be correctly stated to you, Burket having represented himself as a Union man & was all the time selling Contraband
