Bureau R. F. & A. L. Office Asst Superintendent Burksville [[Burkeville]] Va. Dec. 12th 1866. Bt Brig Gen O. Brown A. A. Adjutant Gen'l. I have the honor to Request that transportation be furnished, for an aged Freedwoman named "Sarah Chambers" And her daughter: "Mary Ann Chambers" (both are Entirely destitute) From Burksville, Va. to Danville Va. They are desirous of returning to their Home, at the latter place, from which they were carried away during the late War. If they can Succeed in getting to Danville, they will be no further expense to the Government. As their friends will then care for them. Very Respectfully Your Obdt Servant. D. Jerome Connolly.
