Laurenceville Va. Dec 28/66

Respectfully returned to Bvt Maj J R Stone Supt 2d Dist with this information — A day or two subsequent to my report of the case, within named, that of Geo. W. Johnson vs Edmond Gilliam, colored, I was informed by said Edmond that the sale of his property was to take place the day following, whereupon I wrote to Mr Saml K. Lucy, magistrate, stating that I had reported the matter to higher authorities, and earnestly protesting against the execution of said judgment stating that such injustice was intolerable. From this or some other cause the execution & sale of his (Edmond's) property has been stayed, and is yet unsold, but I have no knowledge that the judgement has in any way been set aside.
