from statement of Henly's wife, is the son of another man, who I am informed on same authority is still living in this county. Henly's wife was formerly a servant of Dr. Horace Talley of whom she speaks well of and when she left him, this boy Preston, and another boy, on some pretext or arrangement, was left with Horace Talley, who liking the boy, and knowing the circumstances wished to keep him until he was older, but after a time Henly saw Capt Buncker, and made his statement, upon which the Capt. sent an order by Henly, to Talley, to immediately give up the boy: whereupon Talley, also saw Capt Buncker and informed him of the above facts, and was told. by the Capt. that under the circumstances He would bind both boys to him if he (Talley) would take care and do justice by them, and made arrangements to that effect. The boy. seems well satisfied with his home, and is treated kindly
