April 6/97.

My dear Mr. Kingsley,

Unfortunately the directions to forward the "Rising Moon" direct to you did not reach Boston until after the picture had started on its homeward journey. Yesterday it was re-shipped by American Express consigned to you at Hadley, charges prepaid, and I trust will reach you safely.

I am at last sending you under separate cover to-day the little book containing your article on painter engraving, which should have been safely in your hands months ago. I trust you have not been inconvenienced by the delay. I have enjoyed it very much and have taken the liberty of having a type-written copy made of your article.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer

Mr. Elbridge Kingsley,
Hadley, Mass.
