April 29/97.

Mr. Enrique Baer.
Hotel Vandome, Cor. 41st St. & Broadway, New York.

My dear Sir:

Earlier reply to your letters of 16th and 19th inst. prevented by my absence. Let me thank you sincerely for the copy of the Goncourt catalogue which includes books, prints, and kakemono. I am glad indeed to have it.

The box containing the three pieces of pottery came safely and I have already had a glance at the contents. The three pieces are interesting and I am sure to receive from them much pleasure hereafter. Will you be good enough to send me your bill for transportation from Paris and custom duties, if any, and upon receipt thereof I will promptly remit.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
