Mr. Elbridge Kingsley,
Hadley, Mass.

My dear Mr. Kingsley:-

Your letter written about the middle of December reached me duly and would have been promptly answered but for the fact that I have been on the wing almost constantly since its receipt. I not all you said concerning the proofs and have had one interview with Tryon since the time we met in his studio together, at which time we had a hasty glance at some proofs just sent up by Mr. Bauer. Ere long I expect Tryon in Detroit to spend a week with me and when he comes we shall go over the proofs together and more thoroughly than we have yet had an opportunity to do, after which you will hear from both of us very fully and if we can suggest anything of value, we will of course do so. I presume by this time you are through with the painting. If so, will your kindly have it boxed and shipped to me to Detroit by express.

Wishing you the compliments of the season and a very happy and comfortable year, I remain, with kindest regards,

Yours very cordially,
Charles L. Freer
