March 17/98.

Dear Will:

I have been carrying on some telegraphic correspondence with Mr. Cowen concerning the conditions to appear in the contracts now being drawn for the 1250 B.&O. cars and have arranged everything satisfactorily. Mr. Cowen's latest telegram contains a friendly reference to your father, and I take pleasure in inclosing you herewith a copy of his telegram, together with copy of my answer thereto.

I hope you will have a pleasant outing while you are away. As usual, as soon as you get out of town, the demand for cars increases. The Colonel wired you fully last night on this subject. I think we can get a portion of both the Pennsylvania and Union Pacific lots.

Yours faithfully,
CL Freer
