Mr. F. B. Thomas,
Of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel,
New York.

Dear Sir:

I stopped in New York two or three days ago on my return from a visit of some weeks at the Virginia Hot Springs, and when I paid my bill your Cashier informed me that there was a credit of $5.00 standing to my account. He did not know the particulars of the credit, but I surmised it was in connection with the matter about which you and I had corresponded a short time ago, that is, the little difficulty which occurred in the cafe. I said to the Cashier that I could not accept the credit and also said to him that I would arrange the matter with you when next we met.

On my return home yesterday I found your letter of May 30, which explains more fully the credit. This note is to acknowledge receipt of your letter and also to state that when I see you we will talk the matter over and arrange it amicably.

Yours truly,
Charles L Freer
