Dear Mansfield:

I was in New York yesterday and the day before and had hoped to have an opportunity to call at your office but failed, and I regret this very much as I had hoped to have a chance to talk with you concerning your proposed trip to Japan.

By all means arrange to remain as late in October or early November as possible. You will find both the latter part of September and all of October delightful as regards weather.

I had expected to have been your guest when I made my next trip to New York, by my plans were several times changed as to the time for going and at the last moment I found I had to meet so many railway men at the hotel, and as most of my business had to be done there, I thought it wiser not to attempt to try to mix up business with social functions. However, I appreciate none the less your kind invitation and hope that some other time I may have the pleasure of accepting.

Yours very truly,

Charles L Freer

Howard Mansfield Esq.,
21 West 35th St.,
New York.
