Aug. 19/98.

Mr. Howard S. Hull, Jr.,
31 Nassau St., New York.

My dear Mr. Hull:

I have your letter of 16th inst. informing me of the cause of the delay in forwarding the prints and books. I also have the pleasure of acknowledging receipt of the prints and books, which came safely last night. I shall give them careful examination at the earliest day possible.

Will you kindly let me know in the mean time what your best discount from the prices mentioned will be. If you will make proper prices, I believe I would be inclined to keep the majority of the books already shipped and would perhaps take a considerable number of those still in New York. I saw my friend, Mr. Morse of Chicago, recently and talked with him about the books. I think that possibly he might be interested in a few of them.

Judging from the present outlook, I am likely to be in New York some day next week, but for a limited stay only. Should I go, I will advise you and be pleased to see you while there. In the mean time, let me hear from you concerning the discount.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
