My dear Montross:

I have yours of the 27th and note fully your remarks concerning the Tryon paintings. I do not at this moment recall the Plumb painting, but if it should appear on sale, I would be glad to see it. I would not however care to make any offer before an examination.

There is now a possibility of my being in New York the latter part of this week, but of this I am uncertain. The probabilities are I will not reach there until the 20th of October.
