sept.[[?]] 30/98

My dear Rich;

My attention has just been called to a new Japanese art magazine edited by our fried Shugio in Japan. It is devoted to the reproduction of well known Japanese works of art, and a sample copy sent to be very credible indeed. I am sending my own subscription to-day and I have taken the liberty of subscribing for an additional copy which I have ordered sent to you. Will you accept this little offering with my compliments?

Yourself and family are very well I trust. I have been quite well all summer but have been extremely busy, and am now looking forward to an outing at the Hot Springs, Va., to begin about Oct. 10 and continue the rest of that month.

With personal regards,
Faithfully yours,
Charles L. Freer

Transcription Notes:
The first two lines seem almost entirely obscured bar some fragments. The dating as "sept"(September) is also not entirely certain, but likely due to the mention of an upcoming "Oct. 10" date soon. Nonetheless, other volunteers may judge best to keep the month represented by a simple [[?]] mark due to the uncertainty. ---------- Reopened for Editing 2023-09-27 10:19:19 ---------- Reopened for Editing 2023-09-28 17:15:06
