My dear Mr. Brady:-

Your valued note of 30th ultimo enclosing copy of a telegram to you from our mutual friend John M. Egan, is received. In compliance with your request, I have sent the telegram together with your note, to Colonel Hecker at Washington, and you can rest assured that, all things being equal, Colonel Hecker will do all that he consistently can to advance Mr. Egan's interests. The Colonel has a very high opinion of Mr. Egan and will be happy, I am sure, to show him every possible courtesy.

Yours very truly,
