Mr. A E. Mitchell,
Care Erie Railroad Company,
21 Cortlandt Street, New York City.
My dear Mr. Mitchel:-
On my return from Virginia this morning I find your letter of 17th instant in reference to Sergeant F.R.Stites.
Colonel Hecker is now in Havana and I have forwarded your communication to him, and you can rest assured that whatever can be done for this Sergeant, will be, and as promptly as circumstances will permit.
I expect to be in New York within two or three days and shall hope for the pleasure of meeting you.
With personal regards, I remain,
Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
