Dec. 29/96.

Mr. W. C. Le Brocq,
123 East 109th St.,
New York.

Dear Sir:

I have your letter of 24th inst. inclosing receipted bill for gilding the frame and am very glad that you attended to delivering the painting yourself. It is in accordance with your
affection for fine things and I am sure it must have pleased Mr. Dewing also.

The holiday rush I fancy has delayed Davenport, but as soon as the table is ready I will advise you and will then have it sent to your work shop, No. 461 West 52nd St. The table will be used in the library and I would like it to be practically the same as the wood work in that room, but if the shade varies a little and if the edges of the [[al?]] are irregular like back of the screens now in Mr. Dewing’s studio, I would not object.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
