November 11/98.

Dear Mr. Keppel:

I was delayed in the east longer than I expected and in returning home passed your letter which had been forwarded to me at the Waldorf. It was returned in this morning’s mail, and I hasten to reply.

The painting by Tryon which was awarded the gold medal at the Carnegie Galleries is one of the large panels designed for my hall, and of course I am particularly happy over Tryon’s well deserved success.

The two articles by Gustave Kobbs, the package of delicious tea, and the prints are all received, and I am under renewed obligations for your kindness. In partaking of tea made agreeable by a slight addition of Orange Pekoe I am very frequently reminded of your thoughtfulness. Whenever you are in this vicinity I do hope you will pay me a visit and join me in a cup of the beverage to which we are both becoming such devotees.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
