Mr. Charles L. Freer, 
Care Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York City. 

Dear Sir: - 

I am in receipt of your favor of 21st instant enclosing your personal check on the Guaranty Trust Company of New York to the order of Col. Hecker for $50.000.00, being in payment for one-half of his subscription of $100.000.00 to American Car and Foundry Co. Stock, purchased from him by you, and have deposited same to credit of his account in the State Savings Bank as you request. I also note by the same letter that you have sold your paid up subscription to $100.000.00 of the capital stock of the Amer. Car and Fdry. Co. to Messrs. Meysenburg and Van Horne receiving Cashiers check on the First National Bank of New York for $100.000.00 in settlement therefor, which amount you have deposited with the Guaranty Trust Company to credit of your personal account. Also that you have received check for $5.000.00 from Mr. Meysenburg in settlement of the cash deposit of this amount made for your account by Mr. Delano with the Wells and French Company at the time of your declaration of option on the Walls French plant. All of these matters have been given attention by me. 

I also note the following from your three additional letters of March 21st- 

That you have given Hecker and Freer's check on the Guaranty Trust Company for $27.300.00, dated March 20, in payment for 25 M.P. Ponds at 105. 

That you have given your personal check on the Guaranty Trust Co. dated March 20, $5,000.00, payable to order of American Car and Foundry Company, to apply on cost of revenue stamps for transfer of securities of the M.P. Car Co. to the Amer. Car and Fdry Co.
