My Dear Sir:
I beg to acknowledge receipt of your favor of the 7th instant showing the balance with the Guaranty Trust Company of New York, to credit of Mr. C. L. Freer's account, as per cheque book, to be $434,998.59 which amount agrees with my books.

Add for unpaid cheques as per schedule contained in your letter - 56,682.58

Balance March 31st, 1899, as per books of the Guaranty Trust Company, - $491,681.17 for which information, please accept my thanks.

I desire to acknowledge the following enclosures with your letter of above date:-

Cancelled cheques of C. L. Freer, issued against his account with the Guaranty Trust Company, Numbers 4 to 7, inclusive, 9 to 16 inclusive, 19 to 25 inclusive,28, 30 to 32 inclusive.
