Hon. Peter White,
Marquette, Mich.

My dear Mr. White:-

I have just wired Mr. Oliver as follows:

"I am informed that you are required to have one resident of Michigan in the directory of your Superior board of directors. Permit me to strongly urge your consideration to Hon. Peter White, of Marquette, for the place. He is one of the most prominent and respected citizens of our state, and one of the most genial and well-balanced men I have ever served with. Met him accidentally today, and he expressed a strong wish to be one of your new board. I doubt if there is a man in all Michigan better known to the public, particularly one with his knowledge of the business and everything that pertains to the ore region of Michigan."

Of course I cannot state what the effect of this telegram will be, but I am perfectly assured, however, that if Mr. Oliver and his associates have not committed themselves in other directions, it will have full consideration, and furthermore, if they are fully alive to the best interests of their Company, they will tender you the place without fail.

With best wishes, and wishing you a very enjoyable summer, I remain

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
