Mr. F. Keppel,
6 Buckingham Street, Strand, London,
England.

My dear Mr. Keppel:-

I have yoursof [[yours of]] 21st April and appreciate your remembrance of me in connection with "The Engraver" by Whistler. It is a print that I have been anxious to obtain for a number of years, but never succeeded in doing so until I obtained the Haden collection of Whistler's etchings by purchase from the Wunderlich Family. This collection contains two very wonderful impressions. Were it not for this fact I would most gladly have authorized you to have purchased the dry point, even if the cost had approximated five hundred dollars.

I suppose you are as busy as ever, but I hope you are taking some time at least for pleasure.

I am preparing for a pleasure tour myself and shall sail from New York on Saturday next with the intention of going to Naples. I may however on arrival at Gibraltar desert the ship and head for Madrid. The delight of contemplating four months of pleasure seeking is great enough to drive away all the settled plans concerning what to do, so I shall probably ramble from point to point about Europe regardless of what I spend my days so long as they are enjoyable and there is not too much work in connection with the matter. It mat [[may]] be my good fortune to meet you ere I return home. Hoping this may be the case, and with kind regards, I remain,

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
