Detroit, Mich.,
August 22nd, 1899.

Messrs. F. Keppel and Co.,
26 East Sixteenth Street,
New York City.

Gentlemen:-

On my return from Europe yesterday I found your letter of May 27th concerning Mr. Whistler's book entitled "The Baronet and the Butterfly". I also found the book in excellent condition and I am much obliged to you for having secured this copy for me. I had the pleasure of spending a few moments with Mr. Keppel in Paris and had hoped to have seen him later in London, but I did not spend nearly as much time in the latter city as I had expected to.

When Mr. Keppel returns to America, be good enough to present him my kindest regards and say to him that during this coming fall I hope to meet him in New York.

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer
