915 Union Trust Building,
Detroit, Mich.,Oct.2,1899.

Mr. W. F. Jarvis,
Care Holland House, New York City.

My dear Billy:-
Absence has prevented earlier reply to your letter of the 28th ultimo, which I have read with much interest. I am sorry you met with the difficulty named in connection with the Washington line, however, the plan you have decided to adopt in connection with the Columbia College, seems to me an excellent one, and I sincerely hope you will have no repetition of your recent difficulties.

I am very sorry indeed to learn about Mrs. Will. McMillan's illness and hope that it may prove less troublesome than you predict.

I am going to Massachusetts to-night and shall be at the Wilson Estate the balance of this week. Unless some unforeseen difficulty prevents, I shall reach New York on either Monday or Tuesday next, the ninth or tenth instants. I shall of course look you up on arrival. Should anything of importance occur in the interim, making it necessary for you to communicate with me, kindly address me at Sheffield, Massachusetts, care the W.M. Wilson Estate.

Pardon this typewritten letter, but I am extremely busy to-day and am compelled to economize time.

With kindest regards, I am,
Yours very truly,
