Messrs. Chas. Scribner's Sons,
New York City.

Gentlemen:-
Earlier reply to your recent letters concerning the book I asked you to get for me, entitled "History and Theory of the Drama", prevented by my absence. I am sorry to say that I cannot inform you as to who the publisher or author is, and under these circumstances I do not see how I can trouble you any further in the matter. If you should find a copy, I shall be glad indeed to have it. If not, don't take too much trouble in trying to secure it.

Appreciating your kindness, I remain,
Yours truly, Charles L Freer
