Mr.George R. Turnbull,
V.P., Guaranty Trust Co.,
New York City.

Dear Mr. Turnbull:-

Mr. W. F. Jarvis of this city, an old time friend of mine, is in New York engaged in making tests of an electrical invention, which promises to be of great value in various directions. The testing is now being conducted at Columbia College, but it is Mr.Jarvis' intention to remove his place of operation to some building down town near Trinity Church, in order that a few gentlemen with offices in that vicinity may have a convenient place to privately witness the demonstrations.
Senator McMillan, Col.Hecker and myself are interested with Mr.Jarvis in his undertaking, and I have asked Mr.Jarvis to call upon you and to invite you to step into his down town place, when it is established and show you what he has. You will find Mr. Jarvis a very pleasant gentleman and I am sure you will not regret any time you may spend with him and his apparatus.
I would be happy to have Mr.Oakman look in upon Mr. Jarvis also, if he can find time to do so. It seems quite likely that the Railroads of the country will eventually make use of Mr. Jarvis' invention and personally I would be very glad indeed to have Mr. Oakman's opinion of the merits of the machines.
Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
