from Sorento. At all of these places Bellinetti knows the most comfortable hotels, and can show you all the sights worth seeing. While at Sorento ask him to introduce you to Tramontano, who is the proprietor of a hotel, and a very nice fellow.
(Two or three weeks ago my friend Tom Jerome, of Detroit, whom you have met, and I,) purchased, jointly, a villa at Capri, which I wish you would look at and let me know what you think of it. It was originally called the Villa Castello. It is now known as the Villa Anderson. I am only sorry that We have not yet taken possession of it, as I would be happy indeed to turn it over to yourself (and family) for use while you are there. It is not likely to come under our charge until some time in January, as it takes a long time to execute documents of real estate transfer in Italy.
While at Naples you should give considerable time to the museum. Tell Bellinetti to be sure and show you the secret room. Ladies are not admitted in this room. You should aso see the aquarium, and visit San Minato on the heights. From the latter place a beautiful view can be obtained. Should you care to ascend Mount Vesuvius, Bellinetti can make all arrangements. There is a little Spanish Chapel in Naples, and in a secret room on the landing of a stair-case leading from the Chapel, there are two very interesting skeletons. Have Bellinetti show you these without fail.
From Naples go to Rome. There are two good hotels in Rome; one called "The Grand" the other the "Q[[strikethrough]]u[[/strikethrough]]uirinale; both are good; the former very fashionable; the latter more to my taste. Bellinetti can show you all the sights in Rome, which are very largely of ecclesiastical or architectural interest. Of course the Forum Appin way and catacombs will not go without attention, and I would strongly recommend you to stay one day at Tivoli, having Bellentti arrange to get consent for you to visit Villa d'Este, which is located there. Villa d'Esta is gradually going to wreck, but in a certain sense its garden still remains the finest in all Italy. You will also find a day spent at Frascati very interesting.
