Hot Springs, Va., Oct. 21st, 1899.

Mr dear Colonel:-

Your note of the 18th inst., containing letters from Bixby and Turnbull, is at hand.

I have written to Mr. Turnbull telling him of my future movements, and intimating that the party he speaks of can see me either in Detroit or New York, as may suit his convenience best.

We are planing to leave here on Saturday evening of next week, and are due to arrive in Detroit at four on Sunday afternoon. Unless something arises to prevent, I had thought of spending the first week of November in Detroit, and much of the following week in New York. As I want to see Mr. Coleman before he leaves for Capri, and Mr. Thomas has expressed a desire to look over the Wilson property at Sheffield, with a view of possibly purchasing the same, and if we can make this trip during the second week of November it will be a good time for him to form a fair estimate of what the property is like.

I have written Bixby telling him that I feared acceptance of his proposition on our part would defer the final settlement with Michigan-Peninsular stockholders; also telling him I would consult my Detroit associates before giving him a final answer.

I am glad that we are to see you here on Friday morning of next week. If you can come earlier, don't fail to do so. The weather is fine, the country very attractive, and I am sure you will enjoy every moment you can possibly spare here,

Yours very truly,
Col. Frank J. Hecker,
#915 Union Trust Building,
Detroit, Mich.
