My dear Mr. Truesdale:-
Your letter of the 16th instant reached me here yesterday. Let me thank you for your willingness to meet Mr. Jarvis and to witness the test of his electrical invention.
When I am next in New York I will be very pleased to call upon you, and I hope that nothing will prevent me from accepting your kind invitation to dinner.
With best regards,
Yours truly,

Mr. W. H. Truesdale,
Prest., Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad Co.,
New York City.
