PERSONAL.

November 7th,1899.

Mr. Thomas P. Fowler,
56 Beaver Street,
New York City.

My dear Mr. Fowler:-
Your favor of the first instant was duly received and it has afforded me pleasure to obtain the information requested.

I first asked for an appraisal by Mr. Homer Warren, who is the head of the leading real estate firm in this city and I enclose herewith his views as expressed in a letter dated the third instant. I next brought the matter to the attention of the real estate appraiser of the Union Trust Company of this city and his ideas are shown in a communication dated the sixth instant, also enclosed herewith. A perusal of these two appraisals will disclose a marked difference, which I think is in part to be accounted for by the reason that Mr. Warren is accustomed to actual transactions in buying and selling, whereas the appraisal of the Union Trust Co. fixes values in connection with mortgages and loans made by the Trust Company. It would seem to me, however, that with these two extremes, you could strike a happy medium.

Trusting that you can obtain from the enclosures the information you desire, and with very kind regards, believe me,

Faithfully yours,
Charles L Freer

P.S.

Should you care for further appraisals I will be very happy indeed to procure them from other dealers and banking institutions.
