November 14th,1899.

Dear Watson:-
I did not remain in the east as long as expected and left New York at four o'clock Sunday afternoon returning here
yesterday morning.
To-day your telegram to Harry came and I am glad you have arranged details for the purchase of the farm with Will.
satisfactorily.
The Colonel told me this morning of letter Mrs. Hecker had received from Anna from which I judge that the views of yourself and Will did not agree concerning the value of the farm at the beginning of negotiations. Now that is done, I hope the matter is satisfactory to all parties concerned: it is to me at any rate, and I am pleased at the opportunity to congratulate you upon your purchase. The only question now is to get as much fun out of the place as you can, and in this I hope both Anna and yourself will be very successful.
Enclosed herewith is check and voucher for $17,500.00. Kindly receipt and return the latter at your early convenience.
Sincerely yours,
Charles

Mr. W.M. Freer,
Kingston, N.Y.
