Mr. James A. Robinson, Secretary,
Care Mayor W. C. Maybury.
Detroit, Mich.

Dear Sir:-

I have your polite note of the 16th instant, stating that I have been selected as a member of the Committee of 200, for the Bi-Centenary celebration, proposed to occur in the year 1901. Earlier response to your note has been prevented by my absence and illness. I have today written His Honor, Mayor Maybury, asking to be relieved from serving on this Committee. The communication will, of course, reach you, and I hope indeed that you will find it both convenient and possible to appoint a substitute in my place.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
