A.H.G.2.

would consider loaning for your exhibition, the Haden Collection of Whistler's prints. I have thought the matter carefully and do not feel that I would care to assume the risk incident to shipping, framing, etc., etc., but if the author of your proposed catalogue cares to visit my home, he can have free access to them for the purpose of study, examination, &c. If this plan were adopted, he could at the same time, with my aid, select from my other Whistlers such as are fine enough to include in your exhibition.
None of my etchings are framed, and as mentioned in our earlier correspondence, many are unmounted and others are attached to mounts of peculiar interest to me, which I would not care to lose. The result of all this is that the mounts are of irregular size. Did you consider these facts when deciding to frame all of the prints of your exhibition?
I will be pleased to hear from you concerning all of these matters. In the meantime I will proceed with the packing of the lithographs.

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer

P.S. About when do you propose to issue your catalogue?
