Mr. Bunkio Matsuki,
#380 Bolyston St.,
Boston, Mass.

Dear Mr. Matsuki:-
Your letter of the 19th was duly received. Yesterday, the screens by Matahei and Okio, also the beautiful piece of Nishijin silk and the presents for my servants, came safely.

I have delivered the presents to the servants, excepting the one marked for Mr. Cooper, two silk handkerchiefs. Were those meant for the butler, Wheeler, or were they meant for the outside man, Stephen? Kindly let me know so that I may deliver them to the proper person.

I have examined the screens very carefully, both yesterday and to-day, and I do not feel that they are to me sufficiently interesting to add to my collection. I am, however, greatly obliged to you for having permitted me to see them, and they will be returned to you by express to-day , charges prepaid.

With best wishes, I am,
Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer

P.S.
I am leaving for the East to-night, and expect to be in New York on Monday and Tuesday of next week. I shall stop at the Waldorf Hotel.
